Nelda Jean Davidson COKER | Nelda Jean Davidson, age 64, of Coker, died May 21, 2014, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Tindle and Rev. Sam Day officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Quinn Ball and Elizabeth Aikman. Survivors include her husband, Larry Davidson; daughter, Gina Franklin (Mark); son, Shawn Davidson (Heather); sister, Shiela McAdams (John); brothers, Richard Verbeke (Sherry) and Buba Verbeke; and three grandchildren, Kaylee, Andrew and Jacob Davidson. Nelda was born and raised in Mississippi, being very mature and beautiful at 16 she met Larry Davidson, the love of her life, in New Orleans, Louisiana while Larry was working there. Nelda and Larry married there 49 years ago. This was the beginning of a beautiful love relationship that produced two beautiful children Gina and Shawn and three very beautiful grandchildren, Andrew, Jacob and Kaylee, also the loves of her life. She was always a wonderful wife, mother and a very faithful and loving Christian. She enjoyed very much having everyone to her home, she had the gift of hospitality, love of cooking, sewing, decorating, and fixing hair for all her friends, She considered all her customers, while a beautician, her friends. The greatest love of her life was her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then her family. She will be greatly missed by all. We have 49 years of wonderful memories to last the rest of our lives. Pallbearers will be Mark Franklin, Charles Tunnell, Andrew Davidson, Jacob Davidson, Kyle Hambrick, and Richard Verbeke. Honorary pallbearers are her church family at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, all her customers, all volunteers at the Christian Ministry Center, Dr. Malika Aryanpure and Dr. Lucy and staff at CSICU, Dr. Simpson, neighbors on Lake Lurleen Road and Larry's former pastorates Bethabara and New Hope Baptist Churches.
