Nashie Epperson

Nashie Epperson, age 79 of Moundville passed away on January 23, 2021 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Liberty Methodist Church in Moundville with Rev. Chuck Weaver officiating, burial will follow at Liberty Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel South directing. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Lonnie York and Julie Idell York and her first grandson David Neil Moakley, sisters; Delia McDaniel, Emma Cook, brothers; Ben York and Jack York.

Survivors include her husband; David H. Epperson of Moundville, daughters; Deborah Avery (Jack), Wanda Schulz (Joe), Cindy Matthews (Randy) all of Moundville, son; David Wade Epperson (Tanya) of Moundville, sisters; Virginia Flannigan, Betty Crowder, Martha Allen, Beverly Wallace, brother; Arlin York of West Point, MS., Wayne York and John York, grandchildren; Ashley Stone (Josh), Joshua Hurter (Laura), Jordan Hurter (Aubriana), Ben Avery (Hannah), Dylan Epperson (Lizzy), Emily Harrison ( Josh), Meagan Shultz, Meagan Epperson, fifteen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

Nashie was born and raised in the Moundville/ Stewart community where she lived her entire life. She was a loving wife to David for 62 years. She was a precious " mawmaw" to so many and a blessing to all who knew and loved her.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Epperson, Joshua Hurter, Jordan Hurter, Ben Avery, Don Moakley, and Austin Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chase and Lori Kelly, Daniel Fowler, Mayor Tony Lester, Lauren Boles and special neighbors Charlie and Charlene Sellers.
