Nan Gibson Haley Pearson TUSCALOOSA Nan Gibson Haley Pearson, age 80, of Tuscaloosa, died Feb. 15, 2012, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Lee Jamieson and Dax Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Minnie Lee Gibson and William Gibson; her husband, Robert "Pete"� Haley; her sisters, Sandra Fleming, Sue Newton, and Gail Hurst; and her brother, Bill Gibson. Survivors include her husband, Bruce Paul Pearson; her daughters, Deborah Haley Perkins and husband Steve, and Kathy Pearson Smith and husband Brad; her sons, Robert "Bob"� Haley Jr. and wife Jeanette, and Barry Pearson and wife Cissy; her grandchildren, Haley Perkins Strickland and husband Matt, Josh Haley and wife Beverly, Kari Haley Lancaster and husband Dax, Brett Pearson and wife Kami, Casey and Trevor Pearson, Trey Smith and wife Kristen, and Kim and Laura Smith; and her great-grandchildren, Morgan, Maura, and Cody Haley, Savannah, Emma, and Luke Lancaster, and Perkins and Ali Beth Strickland. She was born June 9, 1931, in Bankston, Alabama and was the oldest of five children born to Minnie Lee and William "Doc"� Gibson. She was married to Robert "Pete"� Haley for 29 years until his passing in 1975. For the past 34 years she has been happily married to Bruce Pearson in a "match made in heaven"�. She was a wonderful cook, and her delicious desserts were enjoyed by family and friends for many years. She was a genuine woman of God and a true blessing to all who knew and loved her. Pallbearers will be Josh Haley, Steve Perkins, Matt Strickland, Dax Lancaster, Brett Pearson, and David Clements. Honorary pallbearers are the John Allen family, the Walter Tyner family, and the Central Church family. Memorials may be made to the Central Church of Christ Rebuilding Fund or Hospice of West Alabama. Published in Tuscaloosa News on February 16, 2012
