Mildred Skelton

Mildred Owen Skelton NORTHPORT | Mildred Owen Skelton, age 97, of Northport, Ala., entered into her Heavenly Home for eternity on October 3, 2014. Visitation will be 12 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North in Northport, with Chaplain Michelle Hunter officiating. A service in Mildred's honor will immediately follow at 2 p.m. Burial and graveside service will be the following day in Camp Hill, Alabama. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Owen and her second husband, James Ralph Skelton. She is survived by her son, Robert Owen (Gloria); daughter, Barbara Hood (Ronald); son, Charles Owen; stepson, Tommy Skelton (Denise); 5 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren Mildred loved to read the Bible and loved her Sunday School Class at St. Mark's Methodist Church, the McCullum Class, who we faithful to visit her. She also loved music and loved to dance. Mildred was blessed to have a special neighbor, Christie Patton, and many wonderful friends whom she loved. The family would like to thank the many nurses at North River Village, caregivers from station 1 at Forest Manor, and especially all the precious nurses and staff at Hospice of West Alabama for showing love, compassion, and dedication in caring for our precious mother, grandmother, and "Mimi".
