Mildred Denise Rushing Chavis TUSCALOOSA | Mildred Denise Rushing Chavis, age 82, of Tuscaloosa, died Dec. 12, 2013, at Heritage Health Care & Rehab. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Sunset Memorial Park with Rev. Patsy Tant officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Ryan Chavis; parents, Robert and Loubelle Rushing; sisters, Maurene Clements, Margaret Mcgill, Melba Lary, and Mary Evelyn "Cricket" Medders. Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and a special niece, Linda Beverly, that assisted and cared for her over the years. Mrs. Mildred retired from Partlow State School with many years of service. She was a very dedicated worker, loved and cared for her residents in her care. She loved the outdoors, enjoyed yard work, gardening and fishing. She had many pets over the years but her dogs were very special to her. Pallbearers will be Gary Keith Beverly, Cary Scott Beverly, Ben Alan Tingle, and Kenny Chavis. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Gene Alldredge, Southern Hospice, nurses and staff at Heritage Health Care & Rehab.
