Melvin Daffin Bedsole | MOUNDVILLE Melvin Daffin Bedsole, age 86, of Moundville, died July 10, 2011, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Moundville United Methodist Church with Rev. Reba Wiley officiating. Burial will follow in Oakhill Cemetery in Moundville with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Massey Daffin and Ollie Sims Bedsole; a brother, Johnny Fulton Bedsole; and a sister, Mariam Bedsole Ross. Survivors include his wife, Elsie Tingle Bedsole; his sons, Terry Bedsole (Geneva) of Moundville and Kenneth Bedsole (Mary Beth) of Daphne; grandchildren, Gary Bedsole (Stephanie) of Birmingham, Michael Bedsole of Japan, John Bedsole (Amy) of Mobile, and Terri Lynn Wallace (Erol) of Birmingham; and great-grandchildren, Maddison and Garrett Bedsole. Mr. Bedsole was a World War II Navy veteran stationed in Pensacola, Fla. He retired from B.F. Goodrich after 38 years. He was a member of Moundville United Methodist Church and the American Legion. Pallbearers will be Gary Bedsole, John Bedsole, Davy McDonald, Erol Wallace, Terry Johnson, and Eugene McClain. Honorary pallbearers are Victor Poole and Eunice Davis.
