Melanie J. Gibson NORTHPORT | Melanie J. Gibson, age 52, of Northport, died January 30, 2014, at home. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday, February 3, 2014, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North. Burial will follow in Tuscaloosa Memorial Park with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Melanie was preceded in death buy her father, Rudy Gibson; sister, Valeria Gibson Salmon; brother-in-law, Danny Salmon; and her brother, Nick Gibson. She is survived by her nephews, Brett Gibson (Angie), Heath Gibson (Martha), and Zach Gibson; grand nephews, Hayes and Grayson; grand nieces, Claire, Libby, and Nora; and her mother Peggy Gibson. Melanie was a graduate from County High School and of U of A with a degree in Teaching. She had a warm and delightful soul that will be deeply missed. Pallbearers will be Clyde Gibson, Brett Gibson, Heath Gibson, Jerry Sims, Zach Gibson, and Gaylean Ragan. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill and Melinda Binford, Laura and J.T. Beasley, Carl Lett and family, and Orbit Marcum. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and the Tuscaloosa Humane Society, 1515 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Tuscaloosa, AL 35405
