Mehri Deas

Mehri Fathi Deas, age 52, of Northport, died Jan. 8, 2012, at home. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Richard Cain officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. She is survived by her husband, Tommy Deas of Northport; her daughter, Alexandra Smith of Northport; her son, Nicholas Smith of Northport; her sister, Masume Fathi of Iran; and her brothers, Mike Fathi of Huntsville, Ala., Masoud Fathi of Atlanta, Ga., Saied Fathi of Iran, and Hamid Fathi of Iran. Mehri migrated to Alabama from Iran in her youth and graduated from the University of Alabama. A loving wife to her husband and loving mother to her children, she found peace and joy working in her garden and reading her Bible. She touched many hearts and will be missed. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Humane Society of West Alabama.
