Dr. Max G. Goodson TUSCALOOSA | Dr. Max G. Goodson, age 81, of Tuscaloosa, moved to his Heavenly home on October 10, 2015, at Hospice of West Alabama. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. A memorial service will begin at 12 noon, Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South, with Rev. Fred Weeks and Bro. Jerome Goodson officiating with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Wesley and Hazel Goodson, and brother, Rex Goodson. He is survived by his wife, Martha Weeks Goodson; daughters, Pamela Goodson-Booher (Dennis) of Cottondale, Ala., and Lisa Snow (William) of Russiaville, Ind.; son, Jerome Goodson (Rebecca) of Trussville, Ala.; sister, Towana Anthony (Leroy) of Starkville, Miss.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Max grew up in Winfield, Ala., where he was known as a great athlete and lettered in three sports. In first grade, he met Martha Weeks, a little blonde-haired girl, who has been his lifetime sweetheart, friend, help-mate, and wife for 61 years. In 1964, Max and Martha moved with their three children to Indiana. When Max crossed over into Indiana, he pulled over, stopped the car, and said, ""From this point forward, as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord."" Max and Martha spent their lives singing and preaching throughout the Midwest and West Alabama areas. Max was a faithful and obedient servant of God. He made a Godly impact in countless lives. Max wanted you to know Jesus and experience an abundant life. ""..I have come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."" John 10:10.
