Mary Lett

Mary Frances Lett (nee Holloway) went to her Heavenly home on Saturday, May 11th, at Druid City Hospital. Born in Tuscaloosa County, she graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School. On May 22nd, 1943, she married Carl Edwin Lett, Sr.; Mary and Carl would have celebrated their 70th Anniversary this year. An avid cook, Mary loved to spend time with family and loved ones over a meal. She enjoyed crocheting afghans, reading, and working crossword puzzles. Her love of bird-watching and houseplants remain alive with others in her family. Mary was also a member of Five Points Baptist Church in Northport. She is survived by her husband, Carl, daughters Beverly Rothman (Peter) and Judy Mundt (David), both of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and a brother, Manly Holloway, of Northport. Also surviving are her seven grandchildren - Pamela Finch, Steven Gollmer, Carl Lett, III (Chuck), Joy Main, Anthony Mundt, Holly Mundt, and Angie Mundt. Mary was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, countless nieces and nephews, and friends she held just as close as family. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Ada and Virgil Holloway, her son, Carl Lett, Jr., two brothers, and a sister. Visitation will be at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North Thursday night from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will be held at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North on Friday, May 17, 2013 at 10:00 am with Pastor Jerry Montgomery officiating. Following funeral services, burial will be held at Williamson Cemetery in Northport. When someone you love becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure.
