Mary Elizabeth Drake Lavender, age 90, of Eutaw, AL passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Greensboro, AL where she lived until 1962 when she moved to Eutaw, AL. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Dorrell Lavender of Eutaw, AL; by her parents Alpheus Brown Drake and Reba Avery Drake of Greensboro, AL; her brother Walton Drake and Eleanor of Uniontown, AL; her sister Edith Green and Ed of Demopolis, AL; her brother Alpheus B. Drake, Jr. and Betty Jo of Greensboro, AL and her infant sister Minnie Drake of Greensboro, AL.

Mary Elizabeth is survived by the following children/grandchildren: John D. Lavender, Jr. (Beverly) of McCalla, AL; Jan Lavender McGee (Jack) of Eutaw, AL; Paul Drake Lavender (Anne) of Northport, AL; Dr. Paul Drake Lavender Jr. (Cathy) of Tuscaloosa, AL; her namesake Mary Elizabeth "Beth" Lavender of Tuscaloosa, AL; Amy Lavender Rodgers (Joel) and Daniel Lavender of Birmingham AL; Joshua Case (Laura) of Charlotte, NC; Jessica Case Spowart (Mark) of Northport, AL; Dr. Jared Case (Selena) of Fayette, AL; Jake Case (Robbie) of Berry, AL and Kristen McGee of Vestavia, AL. Mary Elizabeth is also survived by many great grandchildren and many special friends who all lovingly called her "Honey".

Special thanks to the entire staff of the Hospice of West Alabama who provided the most loving and compassionate care to Mary Elizabeth during the Fall of 2023 through the Winter of 2025. Morgan and Ollie of Hospice of West Alabama brightened so many days for Mary Elizabeth. She "loved" them so very much.

It is requested by the family that Memorials be made to: Hospice of West Alabama, 3851 Loop Road, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404. Dr. Jared Case will officiate a private Memorial Service for family at the Mt. Carmel United Methodist cemetery in Perry County on a later date.
