Marvlyn "Mickie" Sullivan

Marvlyn “Mickie” Sullivan, age 75, of Gardendale, Alabama, passed away on August 23, 2022 at her residence. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. Friday, August 26, 2022, at Magnolia Chapel South. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Alan Roggli officiating. Burial with graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Friday at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Magnolia Chapel South will be directing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy W. Sullivan; parents, Marvin Kelley and Ora “Deedie” Kelley; and sister, Patsy Cousins.

Survivors include her daughter, Patricia Taylor (Lynwood); son, Joey Nail (Erin); stepsons, Chris Sullivan (Tara) and Brad Sullivan; grandchildren, Levi Taylor, Cooper Taylor, Anna-Kate Nail, Weston Nail, and Hudson Nail; step-grandchildren, Eli Sullivan and Josiah Sullivan; niece, Kelley Cousins Jones (Casey); and nephews, Tony Cousins (Myra) and Chip Cousins (Susie).

Marvlyn “Mickie” was born and raised in Mt. Olive, Ala. She graduated from Mortimer Jordan High School in 1965. Following high school, she attended Jacksonville State University where she obtained a degree in Secondary Education, specializing in English Literature. She taught high school for 27 years. When she wasn’t spending time with her children and grandchildren, she enjoyed gardening, working with her flowers, sewing, and Alabama Football.

Pallbearers will be Joey Nail, Lynwood Taylor, Levi Taylor, Cooper Taylor, Weston Nail, and Chris Sullivan.
