Marvin Payne

Marvin B. "Sonny" Payne of Moundville passed away Thursday May 20, 2010 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held at Community Baptist Church in the Stewart Community on Sunday May 23, 2010 at 11:00 am with Bro. Jerry Koster officiating and Magnolia Chapel South in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be held Saturday May 22, 2010 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Magnolia Chapel South. Burial will follow at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Stewart. He is preceded in death by his father, James Marvin Payne, his mother; Edith Payne; sisters Doris Walters (Aaron); Ruth Jones (Julian); and Sarah Townsend (W.C). He is survived by his wife Doris Williams Payne, daughters; Pam Payne Hudson (Dennis), Angela Payne, his son; Scott Payne (Judi), and his grandchildren; Hannah and Halle Payne, Baleigh Walters, and two step grandaughters Sumer Hudson, and Ashley Hudson. Pallbearers will be Curtis Gvillo, Bryan Gvillo, Chuck Perry, Phillip Townsend, Ray Battles, Danny Hutchins, Wayne Hutchins, Lynn (Hopper) Battles. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe & Debra Madison, Rachel & Doc Crump, Richard and Frances Johnson, Donald & Patsy Hoggle, Jimmy & Brenda Payne, Eloise & Wood Irvin George, Dee & Sarah Tunnell, Sib Koster, Joe & Robert Skelton, Debra & Larry Hughen, and Members of Community Baptist Church.
