Mark Storey

Mark L. Storey, age 88 of Tuscaloosa, passed away November 13, 2022 at Moundville Health and Rehab. Services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022 at Magnolia Mausoleum Chapel at 12 Noon with Bro. Michael Cobb officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Visitation will be held in the Mausoleum Chapel from 11:30 am until noon prior to the service. Entombment will follow.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Archie L. and Verdie Storey, brothers; Ed Storey and Bob Storey, and son; Mark Kevin Storey.

Survivors include his wife Jimmie Ann Storey, daughters; Dena Whitfield, Kristi S. McDaniel (Stan), grandchildren; Jared Sanders (Amber), Blake Gill and great grandchildren; Kiersten and Justin Sanders.

Mark was a lifelong resident of Tuscaloosa County. He was educated in the Tuscaloosa County School System and graduated from Tuscaloosa High in 1952.

After four years in the United States Air Force he returned to Tuscaloosa and married his high school sweetheart in 1957. They started a family and he earned his BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama.

His career took him to Birmingham, where they had the last of their three children. He retired from Jacobs Engineering in Baton Rouge, LA in 2000 and returned to Tuscaloosa where he enjoyed living on the Black Warrior River.

Mark was a member of Moundville United Methodist Church.
