Marjolena was born in Tuscaloosa but lived her childhood years in Moundville. She married George H. Payne and they lived the remainder of their 50 years together in Akron, Alabama. She was a housewife and mother first and an active member in the Akron Baptist Church for many years. Later in life, she ran the Senior Citizen Center in Akron and she loved all the sweet people we had known our whole lives. She loved to dance in her younger years, loved gospel music, and loved her community. She was loved by all who knew her, she was quick to laugh, and quick to help others. She and George raised three children, who always knew happy times growing up. She is now home with Jesus, and our dad. Our hearts rejoice in that promise as we lay her to rest.

Pallbearers will be Mac Brown, Ralph Brown, Larry Payne, Barry Kelley, Todd Payne and Tommy Woods. Honorary pallbearers will be Moundville Health and Rehab and staff, Southern Care New Beacon Hospice of Demopolis, AL. and the late Dr. Larry Skelton.
