In her later years, she moved to Tuscaloosa, Alabama and eventually married Jim Harkness, where they settled in Northport. An avid bowler, an enthusiastic fan of Alabama football, and strong person of faith, she was cherished by friends for her devotion to church, her willingness to help, and her baked goods, especially cheesecakes which she enjoyed sharing with everyone. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and all the community members whose lives she touched on a daily basis.
Memorial donations may be made to Margo’s church, Mount Olive Baptist Church, or to the American Lung Association to research cures for various lung diseases. (www.lung.org/help-support)
