Madge Pate

Madge Norris Pate "Granny"�, age 85, of Northport, died October 25, 2011, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Nazareth Primitive Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Baxter and Mary Lee Norris; her brothers, Sidney, J.R., and Wilson Norris; and her sister, Mary Ruth Rodgers. Survivors include her daughter, Becky Holycross (James); her son, Baxter Norris (Wanda); her sister, Mable Elliott; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Pallbearers will be Bill Hallman, Austin Hallman, Jeremy Smith, Neal Gay, Lee Burroughs, and Todd Oswalt, Jr. Honorary pallbearers include DCH Golden Years. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to Arbor Springs Baptist Church Building Fund.
