Louis Gaston Christian NORTHPORT | Louis Gaston Christian, age 92, of Northport, died March 23, 2015, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Donaldson and Bro. Tim Tindle officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state ne hour prior to services at the church. Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Mildred D. Christian; daughter, Allison C. Ball (Anthony); son, Roger Darryl Christian (Donna); sister, Evelyn Winch; grandchildren, Shannon Dale (Charlie), Kelly Babb (Chris), Cheyanne Ball, and Gavin Christian; and great-grandchildren, Michaela Dale, Moriah Dale, Mia Dale, Spencer Babb, and Selah Babb. Mr. Christian was born in Tuscaloosa County on August 31, 1922. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He retired from B.F. Goodrich, and was a long time active member and deacon of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Pallbearers will be Gary Newman, David Richardson, George Evans, Doug Smith, Eric Swanson, Roger Oglesby, and Daryl Lee. Honorary pallbearers are Early Risers Sunday School Class of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, past and present deacons of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Dr. Leonard Jones, special family friend and caregiver, Lynn Tucker, Earnest, Karen, and Marcus Hartley, Chris Bostic, John Bostic, staff of Hospice of West Alabama, nurses of DCH 6th Floor North, and staff of Amedisys. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to Mt. Olive Baptist Church Children's Building Fund.
