Laura Green

Laura Ruth Green, age 89 of Greensboro, Alabama was born July 17, 1935 and passed away at her home on February 16, 2025 surrounded by her family. The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Services will be held on Friday, February 21, 2025 at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South at 11:00 am with Bryan LaGrone officiating. and Magnolia Chapel South directing. She will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery in Greensboro, Alabama.

Laura was preceded in death by her husband Leo Lewis Green, son; Leo Lewis "Buddy" Green, Jr. , father; John W. Holbrook, mother; Nona Rose Holbrook, and her siblings; Sophie Snyder, Margaret Williams, John L. Holbrook, and Claude Holbrook.

She is survived by her daughter; Jelena Morrison (Tim) of Greensboro, Alabama, son; William "Billy" Green(Regina) of Centreville, Alabama and William "BJ" Green, Jr. of Moundville, Alabama, grandchildren; Mandy Smalley, Timmy Morrison, Kelly Green, Crystal Harris, and Bryon Lagrone, numerous great grandchildren, and sisters; Clara Rosso and Lois Sparks.

Laura was born and raised in Greensboro, Alabama where she and her husband Leo both worked for many years and retired from the Hale County Sheriff's department.

Pallbearers will be Billy Green, Tim Morrison, Timmy Morrison, Chandler Morrison, Clay Smalley and Justin Smalley. Honorary pallbearers are Southern Care Hospice and special thanks to Jackie Fields, Laura's caregiver.
