Larry Patton

Larry Patton, age 49, passed away on December 29, 2017 at Northport Medical Center. Services will be 3 p.m. today, Sunday, December 31, 2017, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Albert Lyles officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Patton; grandmothers, Ann Connell and Ethel Pearson. Survivors include his wife, Cindy Kaye Patton; son, James Henry Patton; stepdaughter, Haley Young; stepson, TJ Kizziah; sister, Cindy Moore; mother, Bennie Sue Patton; niece, Ashley Moore; and nephew, Brandon Moore. Larry lived his life to the fullest. He was never one to sweat the small stuff and he was grateful beyond measure. Larry was always happy. He could put a smile on anyone's face just by spending time with them. Larry dedicated his life to his family and to helping people who needed him. He would have given you the shirt off his back. Ten years ago, Larry's life truly took on a new meaning. He married the love of his life, Cindy Abernathy, and later became a father to a precious baby boy, James Henry Patton. Larry was so proud to become a husband and a father and never took one second for granted. He spent every day of his life proving his love for them. Larry taught Henry so much about life, from hunting and fishing, planting a garden, driving a four wheeler to putting up excessive amounts of Christmas decorations. He was never too busy to be a dad or a husband. He wanted Henry and Cindy to be with him no matter what he was doing. They were his whole world. Our lives will never be the same without Larry and we will miss him terribly. We will hold our memories with him near and dear to our hearts until we meet him again and will continue to thank God for the time he allowed us to spend together.
