Kristin Renee Young NORTHPORT / Kristin Renee Young , age 31 died July 16, 2017 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham. Services will be held on Friday July 21, 2017 at 11:00am at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Rev. Tim Baumgarten officiating and Magnolia Chapel North directing. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home. She is preceded in death by her grandparents Clifford and Helen Combs; grandfather, John Edward Nicholson and her father in law Rodney Young. Kristen is survived by her husband, Riley Young of Northport; daughter; Mackenzie Renee Young of Northport; sons, James Rodney Young and Grayson Edward Young both of Northport; brother, Jason Scott Nicholson (Ashley) of Tuscaloosa; parents, John Edward Nicholson, Jr. and Susan Jane Combs Nicholson of Brookwood; and grandmother Ora Jean Nicholson of Brookwood. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Northport FWB Church to the Young Family Fund. Kristin was a loving wife, mom, daughter, and sister but her first love was he Lord and Savior. She was extremely active in Northport Freewill Baptist Church in various ministries. As a teacher at Northport Elementary School, she used her gifts and talents to share God's Grace and Knowledge with all of her students. She is loved by everyone that knew her. Even though her time was brief on earth, her impact was enormous and will be felt for Eternity. She truly exhibited what it means to follow Christ. She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Pallbearers will be Donny Barnard, Brandon Cromer, Todd Tilley, Jeremy Hammontree, Jason Nicholson, Brett Averette, Brad McGhee, and Chance Gilliam. Honorary pallbearers will be the teachers and staff at Northport Elementary School, The Youth Group and members of Northport FWB Church, and the teachers and staff at Brookwood High School.
