Korey Thomas Ryan TUSCALOOSA | Korey Thomas Ryan, age 27, of Tuscaloosa, died October 23, 2014, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 30, 2014, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Pastor Jimmy Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in Oakhill Cemetery in Moundville with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 29, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Pet and Louise Ryan; uncle, Baron Faulkner; and godmother, Kay Burton. Survivors include his girlfriend, Kelsey Dogan; nieces, Sadie Ryan, Landreigh Ryan and Brantleigh Taylor; brothers, Keith Ryan (Melinda) and Chris Ryan (Vanessa); god brothers, Kyle Burton and Dr. Kent Burton; parents, Larry and Cam Ryan; grandparents, Edward and Bunny Faulkner; and godfather, Jimmy Burton. Korey was an avid fisherman and hunter. He loved Auburn football. Korey was that person in your time of need that you could call and he would drop whatever he was doing and be there for you. He was a hard worker at everything he did. Korey graduated from ITT Tech with a drafting and design degree. He was currently attending Shelton State Community College to earn his associates degree in machinist and CNC Technology. He was awarded an internship through Shelton State Community College with Nucor Steel. He was so thankful for this opportunity and enjoyed his job. The family would like to personally express their gratitude to all their friends and family and the entire Big Sandy community. Pallbearers will be Kyle Burton, Dr. Kent Burton, Josh Abel, Brandon White, Kyle Fikes, and Daniel House. Honorary pallbearers are Shelton State Community College, Nucor Steel, Bill Walton, Class of 2006 - HHS and DCH TSICU, Dr. Quinton, D. Matthews and Candace Fikes. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the memorial fund via Nucor Credit Union.
