Kenneth Dewey Eatmon, Jr., of Northport, Alabama, passed away April 18, 2023, at the age of 72.
Visitation will be held at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home in Northport, April 20, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
His funeral service will be held at Magnolia Chapel at 11:00 a.m. April 21, 2023, with burial following at Bethel Cemetery, Northport. Dennis Stricklin will be officiating.
Kenneth was born September 1, 1950, in Pompano Beach, Florida, to Kenneth Eatmon, Sr., and Eloise Delegal Eatmon. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Becky Strickland Eatmon; daughters, Kathryn Diane Housley of Louisville, Kentucky, and Brenda Banks Colburn (Judson), of Wasilla, Alaska; grandchildren, Caroline Colburn and Banks Colburn; sister, Beverly Eatmon of Ocala, Florida; nephew, Kris Matz (Terra) of Ocala, Florida; niece, Katie Gonzalez of Colorado Springs, Colorado; and uncles, Mickey (Linda) and Charles Delegal of Live Oak, Florida.
Kenneth was a member of Pompano Beach First Baptist Church. He attended school in Pompano Beach and played varsity football starting as a sophomore. He next attended Gordon Military School then Middle Tennessee State University where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity.
Kenneth was an avid cattleman and horseman throughout his life, and a corn and soybean farmer. He managed several hunting preserves. Among his interests he participated in photography and in auto racing on dirt tracks in Indiana. He appreciated almost all genres of music and had a love of college football, Roll Tide. Kenneth’s love of life and his sense of humor will be deeply missed by his friends and family. We loved him dearly.
Pallbearers will be Louis Watt, Jr., Tyler Watt, Jacob Watt, Matt Watt, John Montgomery, and Stephen Hill.
