The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Audrey Standridge; and father, Floyd Donaldson. Survivors are his wife, Jayne Donaldson; daughter, Kim Wheat (Jerry); sons, Rodney Donaldson and Jeff Donaldson; grandchildren, Justin Wheat (Alicia), Jeremy Wheat (Rebecca), Meredith Wheat, Nicole Donaldson, Amanda Donaldson; and great-grandchild, Harper Rae Wheat. There are not words to describe the legacy Ken has left us with. His smile and laughter were contagious. His love for his family and friends was unconditional. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. But Ken's first love was the Lord. He was an active member of Cottondale Community Church, a retired minister, and a veteran of the United States Army. Although he will be missed, we are left with so many fond memories of the times we spent together. Ken is home with his Heavenly Father with no more suffering or pain. Ken strived to be a light in such a dark world and in doing so, he never met a stranger. Ken's goal in life was to reach the gates of Heaven and hear the Lord say, "Well done my good and faithful servant." He is now dancing on the streets of gold, rejoicing with his Savior. Pallbearers will be Justin Wheat, Jeremy Wheat, Jerry Wheat, Berneal Ellison, Tyler Cadie, and Barry Ingle. Honorary pallbearers are Mr. and Mrs. Jim Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Dean McClure, Mr. and Mrs. Terry Smith, staff of MICU 1st Floor and Louis and Faye Manderson Cancer Center, DCH Home Health, members of Cottondale Community Church and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to the Cottondale Community Church Building Fund.
