Justin Strickland

SAMANTHA - Justin W. Strickland, age 71, of Samantha, Ala., died September 26, 2018. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2018, at Sulphur Springs FWB Church with Bro. Rick Taylor and Bro. Jerry Montgomery officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services at the church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dolphus and Alma Strickland; wife, Geraldine Simpson Strickland; and sisters, Kathleen Gilbert and Sidna Smelley.

Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Moore Strickland; sons, Jay Strickland (Robin) and Troy Strickland (Kathy) step sons, Steve Moore (Carol) and Jeff Moore (Amy); sisters, Bonnie Harkey, Floy Smith and Sharon Stringfellow (Bill); brother, Ray Strickland (Linda); grandson, Aaron Strickland; and a host of family and friends.

Justin was a lifelong resident of Samantha. He was an active member and deacon at Sulphur Springs FWB Church. As a longstanding purchasing agent for McAbee Construction, Justin loved his job but what he enjoyed most was his coworkers.

Justin was a good husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. His wit and character will be greatly missed, but he is enjoying the glories of his Lord.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Smith, Shane Smith, Dennis Harkey, Tommy Ard, Steve Moore and Jeff Moore.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sulphur Springs FWB cemetery fund.
