Julia Ann T. Allen MOUNDVILLE | Julia Ann T. Allen, age 83, of Moundville, died March 19, 2014, at Moundville Health and Rehab. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014, at Moundville United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Curtin and Rev. Tom Terry officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be Saturday one hour prior to services at the church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stella and Bert Tillery; and sisters, Laura Tyson and Liz Avinger. Survivors include her husband, Walter S. Allen; daughter, Sheryl Cobb (Wayne); son, Glenn Stephens (Lisa); grandchildren, Nicole Pinkham, Natalie Wilson, Hallie Bomgardner and Ryan Stephens; and great-grandchildren, Joshua Pinkham, Logan Pinkham, Lindsey Pinkham, Chase Wilson, Dylan Wilson, John Eddison Bomgardner, Julius Robertson, Julia Ann Robertson and Ella Cruz Stephens. Julia was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted her life to her loved ones. Her smile and humor could brighten lives in her later years the same as when she met her husband Walter, in York High School, and brightened his. For over fourteen years, she worked tirelessly in the United Methodist Church Thrift Store in Moundville, serving the people of her community. She will be missed dearly! Pallbearers will be Ryan Stephens, Gregg Pinkham, Josh Pinkham, Mike Wilson, Stan Myers, Ronnie Nevin, Tommy Martin and Clint Tucker. Honorary pallbearers are Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Shipley, Ms. Kathleen Bates, Mr. and Mrs. Arlen Kelly, Mr. and Mrs. Victor Poole, Diane McCrory, Mrs. Peggy Nevin, Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Yawn, Mr. and Mrs. Mitt Tubbs, Mrs. Stella Hitt Harvell, Mr. and Mrs. George Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. Nevin Tidmore, Bank of Moundville employees, Thrift Store volunteers, Mrs. Gloria Austin, Mrs. Barbara Kelly, Mr. and Mrs. Buster Chandler, Mr. and Mrs. Don Seale, and Rhonda Martin. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Moundville United Methodist Church Family Life Center.
