Joseph Charles Johnston Jr. | MOUNDVILLE Joseph Charles Johnston, Jr., age 70, of Moundville, died July 15, 2011, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Moundville Baptist Church with Bro. Ed King officiating. Burial will follow in Havana Methodist Church Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Charles Johnston, Sr. Survivors include his wife, Caroline June Johnston of Moundville; his daughters, Dana Thomas (John) and Crystal Dawn Ray (David) of Moundville; his son, Michael Shane Johnston (Susan) of Tuscaloosa; his mother, Sadie L. Johnston; his grandchildren, Seth, Tamsie, Callie, Daniel, Hannah, Tanner, and Nolie; and his great-grandchild, Levi. Mr. Johnston was born and raised in Moundville. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially family trips to the Smoky Mountains. He worked at Gulf States and retired from the Town of Moundville. He will be missed dearly by all who loved him. Pallbearers will be Seth Thomas, Tanner Thomas, Daniel Johnston, Dr. Jamie Lowther, Macon Beckham, Raymond Fields, and John Hendrix.
