Joe was a 1975 graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School. He went on to play college baseball at Western Kentucky University and Middle Georgia State University. He later retired from Kemin Industries in Georgia. During his college years he once hit a home run against the Alabama Crimson Tide. He also set the record for the most doubles in a season. He has a ball in the hall of fame from a game that he hit two grand slams and a 3 run home run. It would have been 3 had the runner not got picked off at first with the bases loaded. He was known by many as “Bama” as he was one of the biggest Bama fans you would ever meet. Roll Tide! Uncle Joe. He enjoyed singing karaoke and was known to bust a move at a moments notice. He enjoyed meeting up with friends to eat and was very involved with the class of ‘75. He never met a stranger, if he didn’t know you he would find a connection and get to know you. All of the stories and precious memories will live on. He is and always will be special to me and missed by many. Special thanks to TCHS class of ‘75, Pam Beasley, Mike Higgins, Ricky Nolen and his teammates for making his memorial possible.
