John York

John Wesley York, age 56 of Moundville, Alabama passed away January 6, 2022 at his residence. Services will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 at Magnolia Chapel South at 12:00 p.m. with visitation from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Rev. Charles Spence will be officiating. Burial to follow at Concord Cemetery in Hale, County.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie and Catherine York; brothers, George Andrew Cook, Ben York and Jack York; sisters, Emma Cook, Delia McDaniel and Nashie Epperson; brother-in-law, Tommy Tingle.

He is survived by his sons, Christopher York and Jonathan York; sisters, Beverly Wallace(Curtis), Betty Crowder(Jim), Virginia Flanigan(John), Martha Brooks(Allen), Elaine Dunn(Ed), Gesna Tingle and Dian Brown; brothers, David Wayne York(Scarlet) and Arlin York(Lupe) and also numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Lisa Blackburn and Randy and Debbie Brown.

John was born and raised in Hale County, Alabama. He was one of the best carpenters and woodworkers around. He loved his family and friends and always had a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed by all.

Pallbearers will be Matthew Matherson, Michael Brown, Wesley York, Anthony Sims, Kenny Johnston, and Johnny Meggs.
