John Williamson

NORTHPORT - John Curry "Johnny" Williamson, born April 19, 1969, died on February 9, 2019. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 16, 2019, at Williamson Cemetery in Northport, Alabama, with Magnolia Funeral Home North directing.
He was preceded in death by his father, John H. Williamson; mother, Ruth H. Williamson; and sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Billy Hahn.
He is survived by his son, Kane R. Williamson and Kane's mother, Lindy Williamson; step-children, Aaron Appling, Garrett Appling (Nichole) and Landis Appling, and their mother, Sheri Williamson who was Johnny's loving companion for many years; brother, Jim Williamson (Beverly); sister, Donna Hamner (Newt); cousin, Stephen Yeatman; and several nieces and nephews.
Johnny graduated from Tuscaloosa County High School in 1987. He was employed by Bruno's for many years and was most recently employed by the University of Alabama Grounds and Maintenance Department. Johnny grew up in Northport and loved fishing, skiing and boating on Lake Tuscaloosa. He was a devoted Alabama football fan. Johnny was loved by all who knew him.
Pallbearers will be Pat Roberts, Toby Martin, Chris Martin, Greg Martin, Floyd Boyd, Jr., Aaron Appling and Garrett Appling.
Honorary pallbearers are Rick Parks, Bart Brown, Tuscaloosa County High School class of 1987, former Bruno's co-workers, and the University of Alabama Grounds and Maintenance Department.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Northport First United Methodist Church youth ministry.
