JOHN E. THOMAS
TUSCALOOSA - John E. Thomas, age 52, of Tuscaloosa, Ala., died April 19, 2018, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South with Branon Pinion officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South directing. Visitation will be 6 - 8 p.m. Monday, April 23, 2018, at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Arles and Faye Thomas; and daughter, Courtney Simmons.
Survivors include his stepdaughter, Chelsea S. Channell (Terron); brothers and sisters, Dewayne, Michael (Stephanie), Gene (Candy), Diane Liles, Lynn Etheridge (Cecil), Clifton Thomas (Diane) and Ed Thomas; grandchildren, Cheyenne and Charlotte; and many nieces, nephews and family.
God saw he was getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around him and whispered, "Come with me". With tearful eyes, we watched him suffer and saw him fade away. Although we loved him dearly, we could not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard-working hands to rest; God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best!
Pallbearers will be Mike Bretzke, Cade Fowler, Kendall Coats, Tyler Duncan, Andy Koreague, Taylor Hannah, Ronnie Hannah and Anthony Spencer.
