John Strickland

John Clyde "JC" Strickland BUHL John Clyde "JC"� Strickland, age 80, of Buhl, died March 12, 2013, at Hospice of West Alabama. Services will be 11 a.m. today at Cornelius Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Bonner officiating. Burial will follow in Cornelius Chapel Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and John Strickland; his wife, Ruth Strickland; and his son, Danny Strickland. Survivors include his daughter, Sue Osborne (Tommy); son, Tim Strickland (Debbie); sisters, Betty Strickland and Lois Campbell (Sonny); brother, Cecil Strickland (Helen); grandchildren, Johnny Osborne (Celeste), Will Osborne, Ann Marie Watt (Shawn), Joye Osborne, and Lee Ann Jones (Jack); and great-grandchildren, Jake, Sage, Ross, and Adaline Osborne, Alyssa and Mallory Watt, and Gabe Jones. Dad was a wonderful husband, father, Paw Paw, and friend. He was famous for his tomatoes, peanut brittle, and fig preserves that he shared with family and friends. Pallbearers will be Ellis Strickland, Rodney Anderson, Ronnie Mason, Jim Acker, Harold Skelton, Bill Strickland, Bruce Skelton, Drew McCracken, and Bill Skelton. Honorary pallbearers are Don Randolph, neighbors of the Buhl community, and members of Cornelius Chapel Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama or the charity of one's choice .
