John Stamps

John William Stamps, also known as Big John Stud, age 53, of Tuscaloosa, passed away on March 1, 2019. Services will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 3:00 pm, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home South, with Bro. Glenn Kennedy officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior. Graveside services will follow at Memory Hill Gardens with Magnolia Chapel South directing.

John was a devoted son, spending many years taking care of his mother. He was hilarious, and so much fun to be around. He was always the life of the party, and known for his storytelling and jokes. He was kind, generous, and reliable. You could always count on him to be there if you needed him. If he could talk to us now he’d probably say, “What, you miss me or something?” We sure do, John.

He was preceded in death by his parents, JT Stamps, Jr, and Pauline Simpson, and his brother, JT Stamps III. He is survived by his sister, Paula Thompson, his brother, Hal Stamps, and many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Chuck Thompson, John Holemon, Heath Stamps, Dakota Fisher, Shannon Kizziah, Donald Hewitt, and Jerry Law. Honorary pallbearers are Bobby Moses, Danny Moses, and Mark Pumphrey.
