John Jones

John Paul Jones NORTHPORT -John Paul Jones, age 74, of Northport, died July 25, 2017, at his residence. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2017, at Jennings Chapel with Rev. Matt Reed officiating. Burial will follow in Jennings Chapel Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Jennings Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Searcy and Mary Jones and one brother, Price Jones. Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Linda Jones; three sons, Jerrill Jones, Jonathan Jones and Patrick Jones; one sister, Cathy Humphries; and three grandchildren, Layna Jones, Drake Jones and Emery Jones. He was an active member of Jennings United Methodist Church, served on the Chapel Cemetery Committee and Meals-On-Wheels. He loved his family and grandchildren and hunting and fishing. Pallbearers will be his sons, Clayton Jones, Mike Jones and Wes Knight. Honorary pallbearers are Ray Cargile, Joe Anders and members of the United Mine Works.
