Johanna Leigh Johnson, age 29, of Northport, died May 14, 2011 at her home. Services will be 11:30 A.M. Tuesday at Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church with Reverend Robert Sparkman officiating. Burial will follow at Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery, with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. She is preceded in death by her father James Monroe Johnson Jr. Survivors include her mother Dot S. Johnson; sisters Amy Sandifer (Geoff) and Blake Britton (Larry); two brothers Chuck Oswalt and Scott Oswalt (Selena); Grandparents Dot Selliger, JoAnn and Ronnie Drowns; aunts Dorothy Johnson, Linda Stokes, and Julie Skidmore; One Uncle Farley Selliger; nieces Madelyn Leigh Sandifer and Molly Michele Sandifer; special friends Jean Gill, Sean Rubio, Ella and Ellis Houston, and Chad Howard. Johanna was born in Columbus, Ms., lived parts of her life in Pickens Co. in the Liberty community and the last 17 years in Tuscaloosa, Co. where she has been active with many volunteer organizations and churches. She received her AA degree from Shelton State and was a Senior at the University of Alabama. She was a member of Andrews Chapel United Methodist Church and remained active with many churches in Tuscaloosa Co. Johanna loved her family, cats, shoes, recycling, her violin, "Dr. Quinn", and most of all helping others. All of her career aspirations involved working with and for the better of others. She is and will always be much loved and will be deeply missed. Special thanks is given to all medical personnel at Children"�s Medical Hospital and UAB medical center who lovingly helped to care for her throughout the years. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation or any other charity.
