Joe H. Mills TUSCALOOSA - Joe H. Mills, age 90, of Tuscaloosa, died February 9, 2017, at home. Graveside service will be 4 p.m. Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Bethel Presbyterian Church Cemetery with Dr. Mark McCormick officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Mills, parents; Joel and Iona Mills; sister, Eunice Mills Barringer; brothers, Edwin Mills, Johnny Mills, Finnell Mills, Jimmie Mills; and his grandchild, Kimberly Foley. Survivors include his daughter, Joan Foley (Don); sons, Glen Mills and Gary Mills (Teresa); brothers, Arnold Mills (Sue) and Mitt Mills; grandchildren, Joseph Mills (Shayla), Johnathan Mills and Jessica Elmore (Jason); and great-grandchildren, Major Mills and Ella Grace Elmore. Mr. Mills loved the Lord and he loved being a servant over the years. As a longtime member of Bethel Presbyterian Church he served as a Deacon, Elder, Sunday school super-intendent, choir member and Sunday school teacher. He served in the Navy during World War II. He was retired from BF Goodrich with over 40 years of service. He loved fishing and watching Atlanta Braves baseball. He was a very loving husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all! Pallbearers will be his nephews, Charlie Hamner, Craig Hamner, Clark Hamner, Mike Robbins, Danny Mills, James Mills, Jerry Mills and Roger Mills. Honorary pallbearers are friends of Bethel Presbyterian community, friends and neighbors of Sexton Bend community, Dr. Gene Alldredge and staff, Dr. Sakina Kamal and staff, R.S. Foley. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama or Bethel Presbyterian Church.
