Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North with Bro. Keith Pugh, Ron Blaydes and Zach Pratt officiating. A private burial will follow in New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Vivian Yessick and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Yessick, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. James Clifton Burroughs. Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Diana Yessick; one daughter, Allison Marie Pratt (Zach); son, James Clifton Yessick, Jr. (Vista); sister, Cynthia Dunn (Wayland); and brother, Eddie Yessick (Mary). Jimmy was extremely kind, worked hard and always knew how to have fun. He was a dedicated follower of Christ and loved his family more than himself. He loved to farm and was known all over for his watermelons and pumpkins. He was a TCHS graduate of 1970 and after 25 years of sales with Northwest Supply Company, he rarely went anywhere without seeing someone that he knew. Jimmy battled Alzheimer's for many years but received the ultimate healing when his suffering changed to joy in an instant. He is now in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Pallbearers will be Sonny Jones, Clyde Leavelle, James Randolph, Tommy Hale, Ron Thomas, Fred Sealey, David Stazel and Mike Yessick. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. George Miller, Romulus Community, Dr. Daniel Potts, members of Northport Baptist Church, Jimmy's former customers and coworkers, Caring Days, Hospice of West Alabama and Derenda "Skeet" Ford, a special caregiver. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to Hospice of West Alabama or Caring Days.
