Jimmy Sullivan

Jimmy Wilson Sullivan age 74, known to his friends as Jim, passed away from a heart attack around noon on March 8, 2021. He was born on February 7, 1947 to Homer and Roberta Sullivan. He attended Tuscaloosa High School, now called Central, and graduated in 1966 and then entered the Air Force in June of that same year where he attained the rank of sergeant. After an honorable discharge, he entered the work force at B. F. Goodrich tire manufacturing for 30 years of service before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and Alabama football. He was a member at Carrolls Creek Baptist and faithful in the Kingsmen Sunday School class. He also served on the honor guard doing military funerals for veterans. He was an amazing father, husband, and friend and will be missed by countless people whom he took delight in serving all the days of his life.

He is survived by his mother, Roberta; his wife, Mickie; his two sons, Christopher and Bradley;his step children, Joey Nail and Patricia Taylor; two grandchildren, Elijah and Josiah; and five step grandchildren, Levi and Cooper Taylor, Weston, Hudson, and Anna Kate Nail.

Funeral services will be held at Carrolls Creek Baptist Church, 14247 AL Highway 69 N,
Northport, on Friday, March 12 at 10:00 am. Visitation will be from 9:00 - 10:00 that morning.
Graveside will follow at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park at 5434 Old Birmingham Highway,
Tuscaloosa. For anyone unable to attend the funeral services, there will also be a visitation for family and friends at Carrolls Creek Baptist Church, Thursday evening, March 11, 6:30 - 8:00. Though we mourn his loss here on Earth, we rejoice in his homegoing where he will rejoice in the presence of the Lord forever.
