Jimmie Mills TUSCALOOSA | Jimmie Mills, age 86, of Tuscaloosa, died November 20, 2014, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 12 noon Monday, November 24, 2014, at Bethel Presbyterian Church with Rev. John Verciglio officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel and Iona Mills; brothers, Edwin, Johnny, and Finnell; sister, Eunice Barringer; and infant son, Norman Mills. Survivors include his wife, Myra Nell Lesley Mills; daughter, Robin McMillan (Bobby); son, Roger Mills (Claire); brothers, Joe, Arnold and Mitt; and grandchildren, Marla (Dusty), Marissa, Cole, and Katie; and great-grandson, Luke. Jimmie was an avid gardener, baseball and football fan. He was inducted into the West Alabama Softball Hall of Fame in 2013. He was a devoted husband of fifty-eight years. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an active member of St. Mark UMC. He served in the Korean War with rank of Sergeant. Pallbearers will be Cole Mills, Dusty Dempsey, Chris Mills, Dale Lesley, Gary Mills and Glenn Mills. Honorary pallbearers are McCollum Sunday School class, neighbors and co-workers of B.F. Goodrich.
