Jimmie Dale Buckallew (Jim or Buck) of Northport passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on April 18, 2020. Graveside services will be held 11:00am on Saturday, May 2, 2020 at Macedonia United Methodist Church 14837 AL 69 Northport with Bro Barry Holland officiating.
Jim was born September 13, 1941, the oldest son of Samuel and Oma McCoin Buckallew of Afton Ok. After graduating from Afton High School he enlisted in the Navy, upon being honorable discharged he went to work at BF Goodrich at the Miami Oklahoma plant later transferring to the Tuscaloosa plant where he retired after 38 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, story telling and tinkering on small motors. He loved the Lord and was very active in church after retirement. He enjoyed helping with VBS and always had a pocket full of candy for the children, earning him the name of candy man. He always had a smile on his face and positive outlook . Always willing to help anyone that needed help. He loved old westerns and enjoyed reading.
He was preceded in death by his parents Samuel and Oma McCoin Buckallew, a brother Jerry Buckallew, father and mother-in-law J Clifton and Martha S Turner
He is survived by his wife Shirley, sons; Sammie D.Buckallew of Wyandotte Ok, Chad Buckallew ( Emily ) of Nashville TN., stepson; Michael Sherer (Lana) of Northport, daughters, Tracie Vargas of Broken Arrow Ok and Shelli Carlton (Terry) of Phoenix Az., brother, John Buckallew of Afton Ok., sister in Law Barbara Buckallew of Vinita Ok.; special brother n law Jerry Turner of Tuscaloosa, grandsons; Steve Vargas, Christopher Vargas ,Tyler Buckallew, Perry Sharp, Adam Sherer, Kyle Carleton, Logan Carleton, grand daughters; Ashlee DeRyke, Haley Buckallew, Danielle Bridgette and 21 great grand children, brother in law-Larry Turner (Libby), sister in law, Nancy Williams (Vic)and many nieces nephews cousins.

In lieu of flowers memorial may be made to Macedonia United Methodist, First Christian Church Afton Ok, Patriot Guard Riders, or the local Disabled American Veterans
