Jackie was born on February 8, 1945 in Meridian, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his father, Sheeley Edward, mother, Ollie Nichols Hawkins, siblings Robert Edward Adcox and Frankie Thomas.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Virginia Tilley; siblings, Patsy Pierce (Joe), David Wayne Adcox, Sissy Eaves (Billy) and Mavis Hawkins. He is survived his his sons, Stephen Lamar (Ashley), and Michael Keith (Melissa); daughter, Kimberly Madison (Perry); and six grandchildren, Drew, Jesse,Morgan, Zachary, Austin and Camden.

While serving in the Army National Guard, Jackie met the love of his life and later surrendered his soul to Jesus Christ. Soon thereafter, he answered the call to preach and joined the Army of God. Rev. Adcox served as a minister in many Free Will Baptist churches in the Mt. Moriah Association and others.

He was a Journeyman Pressman for over 40-years and established Black Warrior Printing in 1991. He retired in 2008 but continued to preach until his passing.

His greatest love was for Jesus Christ and preaching the truth of repentance. Saving souls brought him the most joy, followed by the love of people, laughter, ‘breaking news’, and of course, the Ole Miss Rebels.

He was a Godly husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was a generous man whose heart cried out for the downtrodden. He had great compassion for the animals in God’s Creation.

Jackie was as unique as his fingerprint. His presence filled every room and he left a distinct impression on everyone he met. He was genuine, kind, gentle and accepting. His laugh was unmistakable, and replicated with such precision by his children, there was no doubt whom they were referencing.

Rev. Jesse Lamar Adcox led a profound life and he was favored by God. He leaves behind a legacy of joy, wisdom and a yearning for lost souls.

Pallbearers will be Drew Madison, Jesse Madison, Zachary Madison, Austin Adcox, Camden Adcox and Todd Tilley.

Honorary Pallbearers are David W. Adcox, Billy Eaves, Trent Tilley, Roy Bannerman, Josh Banks, Kedarius Jones, Steve Channell, all nephews and nieces, the Mt. Moriah Association, and Pocahontas Free Will Baptist.
