Jerald Snipes

Jerald T. "Jerry" Snipes TUSCALOOSA Jerald "Jerry"� T. Snipes, age 65, of Tuscaloosa, succumbed to his short battle with cancer and pneumonia on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2012, and passed away peacefully at DCH Regional Medical Center. A memorial service to honor the life of Jerry will be 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, at Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North, 4905 Highway 69 North in Northport with Rev. Denny Mashburn officiating and Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North in charge of arrangements. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Gayle and Doris Snipes, and his wife, Daun Drake Snipes. He is survived by his siblings, Jill (Stribling) Martin, Ken Snipes, Rick Snipes, and Ann (Snipes) Mashburn; his children, Matthew Snipes, Courtney Snipes, and Drake Snipes; and one grandson, Joshua Ryan Snipes. Jerry served in the U.S. Navy and most recently worked as a team leader at the Grounds Department of The University of Alabama. He was a devoted father and worked until he was no longer able. Originally from Tuscaloosa, Jerry graduated from Tuscaloosa High School. He also lived in Livingston, Ala. and Cleveland, Miss., where he attended Delta State University.
