Jay Strickland

Jay Wesley Strickland, age 50 of Northport, passed away July 28, 2019 at home. Services will be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Magnolia Chapel North with Bro. Shane Smith and Bro. Jerry Hallman officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2019 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery in Fayette County.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Justin and Geraldine Strickland.

Survivors include his wife, Robin Strickland, son; Aaron Strickland, brother; Troy Strickland (Kathy) and a host of family and friends.

Jay was a life-long resident of Samantha. He was a graduate of Northside High School and Mississippi State University with a degree in Agronomy. His greatest joy was spending time with Aaron hunting and showing livestock. Jay had a true passion for the outdoors. He also enjoyed teaching and singing at church. He was employed by Tuscaloosa PARA. Jay was a loving husband and father and will be greatly missed.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Hughes, Barry Hughes, Steve Simpson, Kevin Simpson, Ronnie Smith, Tommy Pasley, Chad Lambert, Kip Gant, Joseph Rose, and Larry Swiney.
