James Thomas Wiburn GORDO - James Thomas "Tom"� Wilburn, age 92, of Gordo, died March 25, 2016, at Hospice. Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at Corinth Baptist Church in Elrod with Rev. Ben Logan officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be two hours prior to service at the church. He was preceded in death by his father, Sam Wilburn; mother, Ethel Wilburn; beloved wife, Louise Wilburn; sister, Lena Dillard; and brother, Clarence Wilburn. Survivors include his daughter, Sharon Wilburn Pugh (Doug); grandchildren, Marti Gilmore (Josh) and Roman Taylor Pugh (Mary); and great-grandchildren, Gunnar and Harlan Gilmore. Tom was a veteran of World War II and served in the Army. He was a lifelong farmer, devoted husband, loving father and grandfather. Tom enjoyed taking care of his family, loved visiting with friends and always had a story or a joke to tell. His laughter and jovial spirit will be greatly missed by all that knew him. Pallbearers will be Rex Robertson, Kent Robertson, Tim Robertson, Ronnie Wilburn, Josh Gilmore and Charles Southard. Honorary pallbearers are friends and neighbors of Homan and Elrod communities, members of Holman Freewill Baptist Church, Roy and Janie Pugh and family, Rev. Ben and Loretta Logan, Lisa Robertson, Juanita Bankhead, Bessie Sealey, Mary Howard, Charles and Honey Southard, Tonya Wilburn, Denny and Paula Dillard, Wayne and Cathy Wilburn, Hospice of West Alabama, Home Health Care, Veterans Hospital Home Based Health Care, employees of Ferguson/Summit, Water Services Group and Misc.
