James Randall "Jim" Thomaston NORTHPORT James Randall "Jim" Thomaston, age 53, of Northport, died May 21, 2013, at home. Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North will announce memorial service arrangements later. Survivors include his wife of 28 wonderful years, Peggy A. Thomaston; daughter, Jessica Thomaston of San Francisco, Calif.; son, Wes Thomaston of Northport; and sister, Joan Thomaston Wilson (Marcus) of Talladega. Jim lived in Talladega at the beginning of his life and attended Lincoln High School. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the aircraft carrier USS Forrestal. After military service he made Northport home where he met Peggy and had a family. He owned and operated Unikrete Edging Plus Landscaping. He enjoyed playing pool with his best friend Jimmy. Jim was a loving husband, a great dad, and a loyal friend, and will be dearly missed. Special thanks to Pritchett-Moore, Inc., Jimmy Henry, and Hospice of West Alabama for their caring support.
