James David Plunkett Tuscaloosa, AL -James David Plunkett, age 65, died on January 2, 2016 while surrounded by his loving family at DCH Medical Center. He was born November 1, 1950, in Winfield, Alabama to James M. (Boots) Plunkett and Eunice Dickenson Plunkett. He married Rebecca Lawrence in 1972 and they celebrated 44 years of marriage. They were blessed with 2 children and 3 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father, James M. Plunkett; mother, Eunice Dickenson Plunkett; brother, Jimmy Plunkett; cousin Hillon Plunkett. He is survived by his wife Rebecca (Becky) Plunkett; daughter, Amy Plunkett Barksdale (Brian); son, Cory David Plunkett; grandchildren, Tyler R. Cunningham, Brylan T. Barksdale and Kenley C. Plunkett. David was a proud Veteran of the US Army, serving in Vietnam. He earned an Associate Degree from Shelton State Community College. In the 1970"�s, David was an owner and distributer of MacCo Tools. He worked in the Service Dept. at Barkley Car Dealership for 9 years. In 1989, he established Classics Lounge and was the first business owner to offer Karaoke in Tuscaloosa. He had a passion for music from the 60"�s and 70"�s. He often participated in playing the guitar and singing as a hobby and entertainment. His greatest love was his family and especially his grandchildren. The family wishes to express gratitude to all of David"�s clientele at Classics Lounge, where friendships were made, golf buddies were gained and many memories created. A Celebration of Life service will be held on January 8, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. at Magnolia Funeral Home South. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The American Kidney Foundation or the charity of one"�s choice.
