James Edward "Jimmy" Payne, Jr.
MOUNDVILLE} James Edward "Jimmy" Payne, Jr., age 72 of Moundville, passed away on December 8, 2018 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held on Wednesday December 12, 2018 at Stewart United Methodist Church at 2:00 pm with Rev. Michael Cobb and Bro. Eric Prewitt officiating. Burial will follow in Concord Cemetery with Magnolia Chapel South directing. Visitation will be Tuesday night from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Magnolia Chapel South.He will lie in state one hour prior to service at the church.

He is preceded in death by his wife Brenda Kaye Payne and his parents James Edward Payne, Sr. and Opal Elizabeth Payne.

Survivors include his daughter; Tabitha Kaye Payne, son James Edward Payne, III (Ephie), grandchildren; Kylie (Trent), Jay, Ally Grace, Tyler, Abby Kaye, Smith, Lexie and Storm.

Jimmy was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Anyone who knew him, knew what a kind hearted, generous, thoughtful and hard working man he was. He took pride being involved in his grandchildren's lives and in all all their many activities. He continued on the family name by farming, but what brought him most happiness was being with family. He was a passionate Hale County Wildcat Athletics fan and also enjoyed Auburn Tiger Football.

Pallbearers will be Scott Payne, Scotty Medders, Greg Siavelis, Ronnie Holly, Patrick Hutchins, Kent McCray, Logan Strickland, and John Wallace.

Honorary pallbearers will be Peco Foods, Sullivan Supply, Doctors and Medical Staff of DCH TSICU, Employees of Jim Walter Mines #4 , Dr. Skelton, Jimmy Meggs, and James Hall.
