James Odis Parker, Jr. James Odis Parker, Jr. age 43 of Northport died on May 25, 2016 at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be held on Saturday May 28, 2015 at Magnolia Chapel North at 2:00pm. with Bro. Carroll Jones officiating and Magnolia Chapel North directing. Burial will follow at Tuscaloosa Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at Magnolia Chapel North on Friday night from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. He is preceded in death by his father James Odis Parker, grandparents Mary Frances Parker and Dab and Mary Nell Duncan. Survivors include his wife Julie Watkins Parker, daughter Molly Robinson of Chicago,Ill. son; Eli Love of Nashville, Tn. Taylor Watkins (Macy) , Blake Watkins of Northport. sister; Mary Dabney Downey (Jeremy) nephew and niece Thomas and Amelia Downey; Mother Yalonda Parker; grandchildren, Harper and Madden Watkins and many other relatives. Jay was born August 11, 1972 in Tuscaloosa and attended Central High School (Class of 1990) and the University of Alabama. He was the proud owner of Any Length Metal Roofing. He loved and followed the Dave Matthews Band and loved fishing. Jay had a unique way of forming life long relationships from his first encounters with others. He had a special love for his grandsons Harper and Madden. Pallbearers will be Buddy Manderson, Larry Sparks, Pat Roberts, Stacy Tidmore, Charles Nevels, Andrew Hudson, Adam Watson. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Any Length Metal Roofing, All contractors in the West Alabama area, TSICU emergency and surgery departments at DCH. In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to the charity of your choice.
