James J. McAteer BUHL James J. McAteer, age 81, of Buhl, died Sept. 13, 2012, at DCH Regional Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Cornelius Chapel Church with Rev. Gary Bonner officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Magnolia Chapel Funeral Home North directing. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He was preceded in death by his parents, Josie Ellen and Johnny Francis McAteer; his sisters, Pearl Skelton, Mildred Baker, and Mary McAteer; and his brothers, William, John, Wilson, and Jack McAteer. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Dean McAteer; his daughter, Patricia McAteer; his son, Rodney (Sonya) McAteer; his brother, George McAteer; his granddaughter, Brittany McAteer; and his great-grandson, Brayden Hardy. James worked with Gulf States Paper for over 27 years and was self-employed the balance of his life. He was a man who loved working and rising his cattle. His family and friends were his joy, especially his "grands"�. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed, but Heaven receives a very kind-spirited man. Pallbearers will be Doug McAteer, Bill Stroups, Jimmy McAteer, Wayne Baker, Danny McAteer, and Scott Gregory. Honorary pallbearers are Salem Nursing Home and staff, Randy Anders, Billy Wayne Skelton, Udo and Terry Marx, Bill Pruden Jr., and the Buhl and Romulus communities.
