James Wiley Hamilton

James Wiley Hamilton “The Bug Man”, went home to our Father Saturday, October 26, 2024 at his residence. He was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

James Wiley was preceded in death by his father, Rex Hamilton; and mother, Betty Lou Jackson; stepfather, Johnny Jackson; brothers; Ricky and David Hamilton; sister, Linda Hatton. He is survived by his wife, Cindy Hamilton; daughters; Heather Hamilton (Andrew) and Samantha Hamilton; Sons, Corey Hamilton (Hannah) and Justin Hamilton; sisters; Darlene Duncan (Gary), Lisa Washington and Tracy Hamilton; grandchildren: Camilla, Kenlee, Hunter, Hayden, Jameson, Lizzy, and Harper; and countless other close family members.

James Wiley was born on November 9, 1963 to Rex and Betty Lou Hamilton in Franklin County Alabama where he grew up. He was one of seven children. He could fix anything and had a tool for everything. Wiley contributed his knowledge of fixing things to his stepfather, Johnny.

James Wiley and his wife, Cindy have been married for 27 years. They met almost 30 years ago on the job in Haleyville, Al at Consolidated Forest Products. They married and eventually moved to Tuscaloosa. Once in Tuscaloosa they continued to work hard and in 2006 they started a small family owned and operated business together: ABC All Bugs and Critters Pest Control. The business was James Wiley’s pride and joy. His legacy will live on through his business for years to come.

Wiley and Cindy have four children and seven grandchildren who idolized their Papaw. The most important thing to Wiley was his family and providing for them. If Wiley wasn’t killing bugs he was watching Alabama football or cruising Lake Tuscaloosa with family. Wiley spent more time outdoors than in; even after a long day of work he would come home and find something to piddle with.

-He didn’t take life too seriously and never shied away from a hard day’s work.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Magnolia Chapel North. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. In lieu of a minister we welcome friends and family to come and share memories and stories of our beloved James Wiley (Papaw).
